Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about using Nave as a homeowner or service professional.
The basics about Nave and how the marketplace works.
What is Nave?+
Nave is a fair marketplace for home services that connects homeowners with local, vetted service professionals. Unlike other platforms, Nave has no pay-to-play ranking, no per-lead fees, and no hidden charges — just transparent pricing and real responses from qualified pros.
Where is Nave available?+
Nave is currently available in the Denver, Colorado metro area, including surrounding cities like Aurora, Lakewood, Arvada, Westminster, and Littleton. We are expanding to additional Colorado markets soon.
What types of home services does Nave cover?+
Nave covers a wide range of home services including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, general handyman work, appliance repair, painting, landscaping, roofing, cleaning, and more. If you need something done around your home, you can post it on Nave.
How is Nave different from Thumbtack, Angi, or HomeAdvisor?+
On most platforms, pros pay $20–$80 per lead and those costs get passed to you. Nave lets pros start free with 2 job opportunities, then charges a flat $39/month for unlimited access — no per-lead fees, no bidding wars, no pay-to-play ranking. Homeowners pay just $5 per job post, which gets credited back on the provider's invoice. The result is lower costs for everyone and a fairer experience.
Is Nave free to use?+
Homeowners pay a $5 quality deposit per job post (credited back by the provider on their invoice). Service professionals start free with 2 job opportunities, then pay $39/month flat for unlimited access. There are no commissions, no lead fees, and no hidden costs.
Posting jobs, comparing responses, and getting things done.
How do I post a job on Nave?+
Click "Post a Job," describe what you need (or use our AI assistant to walk through it conversationally), pay the $5 quality deposit, and your job gets sent to matched local pros. You'll receive responses within hours, typically.
What happens to my $5 deposit?+
When you select a provider, they credit that $5 back to you on their invoice, so you're made whole. If no providers respond, we issue a $5 credit you can use toward your next job.
How do I choose between provider responses?+
Each response includes the provider's pricing, availability, ratings, reviews, and a personalized message about your job. You can compare all responses side-by-side and choose who you want. There's no obligation to pick anyone.
What is the Concierge Service?+
For $25, Nave will review all the responses to your job and recommend the best match based on ratings, availability, pricing, and your stated preferences. It's great if you don't have time to compare responses yourself.
How does payment for the actual service work?+
You work that out directly with your chosen provider. Nave does not take a percentage of the job cost. We only collect the $5 quality deposit (which your provider credits back) and the provider's monthly subscription.
What if I'm not happy with the work?+
After your job is completed, you can leave a detailed review and rating. Nave tracks provider performance including response rate, on-time completion, and customer satisfaction. Providers with poor track records are flagged or removed from the platform.
Can I message providers before choosing one?+
Yes. Once you receive responses, you can message any provider directly through Nave to ask questions, clarify scope, or discuss scheduling before making your decision.
What is Home Hub?+
Home Hub is your personal home management dashboard. It tracks your equipment and appliances, stores service history and documents, and sends you seasonal maintenance reminders so nothing falls through the cracks.
Membership, leads, and growing your business on Nave.
How much does it cost for providers to join Nave?+
Your first 2 job opportunities are completely free — no credit card required. After that, Founder's Pricing is $39/month flat for unlimited access to all jobs in your service area. There are no per-lead fees, no bidding costs, no commissions, and no hidden charges. Cancel anytime.
How do provider leads work on Nave?+
When a homeowner posts a job in your service category and zip code, you get notified. You can review the job details and send a personalized response with your pricing and availability. The homeowner sees all responses and chooses who they want.
Is there a limit on how many jobs I can respond to?+
No. Once subscribed, your $39/month membership includes unlimited responses. Respond to as many jobs as you want with no additional cost. And your first 2 opportunities are free before you even subscribe.
How does Nave verify providers?+
Nave verifies provider credentials including business licenses, insurance certificates, and state registrations. We cross-reference with the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA) and Secretary of State databases. Verified providers receive a trust badge on their profile.
Can I set my own service area and categories?+
Yes. During setup, you choose your service categories (plumbing, electrical, HVAC, etc.) and the zip codes you serve. You'll only see jobs that match your selections, so every lead is relevant to your business.
How do I build my reputation on Nave?+
Homeowners leave ratings and reviews after each completed job. Nave also tracks your response rate, on-time completion, and overall customer satisfaction through our Trust Metrics system. Better trust metrics mean more homeowner confidence in choosing you.
Does Nave offer any AI tools for providers?+
Yes. Nave's Provider AI Toolkit includes a professional bio generator, personalized response template creator, and portfolio photo analysis. These tools help you put your best foot forward without spending hours on copywriting.
How Nave protects homeowners and providers.
How does Nave ensure quality and trust?+
Nave uses a multi-layered trust system: credential verification against state databases (DORA, Secretary of State), customer ratings and reviews, performance tracking (response rate, completion rate), and a $5 quality deposit from homeowners that filters out non-serious requests.
Are providers on Nave licensed and insured?+
Nave encourages all providers to upload their licenses and insurance certificates for verification. Verified providers display a trust badge on their profile. You can view a provider's credentials before choosing them for your job.
What if something goes wrong with a job?+
Nave has a dispute resolution process. If you have an issue with a completed job, you can file a dispute through the platform. We also track provider behavior and can issue strikes, suspensions, or permanent bans for repeated problems.
Does Nave sell my personal information?+
No. Nave never sells your personal data. Your information is only shared with providers when you post a job, and only the details necessary for them to give you an accurate response.
